About
Me

I am a born and raised Texan! I was born in Denison, Texas and spent my first 18 years of life there before I left for college. I moved to San Marcos, Texas to pursue a bachelors degree in psychology at Texas State University. Go Bobcats! After I graduated, I moved to Denton, Texas with my fiance and our puppy! We really enjoy spending time with our families, seeking new adventures, going to see live music as often as we can, and being outside with our Miniature Australian Shepherd, Raeleigh! Other things I enjoy include eating Mexican food, reading a good book, nice long walks in the aisles of Target, and relaxing on my porch on cool, Fall days!

Work
experience
After graduating from Texas State University, I moved to Denton, Texas and began working for an autism clinic where I served my clients by providing them with therapy and educational instruction. While working alongside the Education Coordinator, I decided to go back to school to achieve my teaching certification. I then took a job as a paraprofessional to observe public school education more, and a year later I decided to take a leap of faith and apply for teaching positions! This led me to my first year of teaching last year, which was second grade at Union Park Elementary as well. I thoroughly enjoyed my first year, and I cannot wait to continue building onto my professional career as a teacher with your student!

Education
Texas State University

August 2012 - December 2015

At Texas State University, my major was psychology and my minor was anthropology. I am a first generation student for my immediate family so having their support to move roughly six hours away to pursue my college education meant the world to me! I was so eager to graduate that I ended up graduating within three and a half years. Upon graduating, I was a member in Rho Lambda Honor Society, Gamma Phi Beta International Sorority, Housley Leadership Program, Psychology Association, and I appeared on the Dean's List. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Texas State University and will always support my alumni! Eat 'Em Up Bobcats!

ECAP Alternative Education Program

January 2018 - May 2020

While I was pursuing my first job after college, I realized I was not completely finished with my education. I found a calling towards education, so I enrolled myself in an alternative education program. With this program, I have tested myself on content that is required to be mastered prior to teaching in Texas, and I have participated in different trainings to better prepare me for my career in teaching.
